2008 Marble Point Pinot NoirWINE ANALYSISHarvest Date: 21st and 22nd April 2008 CELLAR NOTESThe fruit for this wine was picked in perfect condition. The fruit was brought in to the winery and put across a sorting table to remove any bad fruit or second set. The grapes where then destemmed in to small open top fermenters for fermentation. A cold soak was given to the grapes prior to then starting fermentation, which was undertaken by wild yeast and the grapes spent about 28 days on skins. After pressing the wine was put to barrel, 25% new, and matured for 16 months before blending and bottling. Traditionally fined with egg whites. TASTING NOTESPlump ripe red berry fruits leap from the glass with complex savoury notes lingering. This is a serious wine with great depth, flavour, concentration and structure. The vibrant palate is packed with ripe flavours of black boy peach, and Dorson cherries with complex earthy flavours making this a wine with character. This wine will reward with cellaring.
